Nano-fs Lab Facilities:

Femtosecond Lasers and Infra-red Imaging: This table includes: 10W Millenia pump, Tsunami Ti:Sapphire oscillator, tunable fs OPAL (total tuning range: 375nm-2.4um with frequency doubling), inverted frame microscope with Andor EMCCD, and Mad City LP200 closed loop piezo stage.

Photoluminescence imaging: This table dedicated to energy and time-resolved spectroscopic imaging, including: Broad-band femtosecond KML oscillator, high resolution HR640 single grating spectrometer with back illuminated, deep depletion CCD, Oxford large-bore liquid helium cryostat (not shown), closed-loop piezo stage and supporting optics.

Single Molecule Imaging: This space dedicated to single molecule imaging apparatus, shown is a basic TIRF system, which has been modified to do PALM and DOPI imaging.

Supporting Instrumentation: A Pfeiffer turbo pumping station and a Varian evaporation system are housed in the lab (to the left of electronics bench). The South Dakota School of Mines also has a full suite of analytical instrumentation housed in the EMES facility, including TEM, SEM, AFM and X-ray diffractometers (for a more detailed description, see: http://emes.sdsmt.edu/), which are available to all student researchers.
